Peachy sputum is a common clinical manifestation of pulmonary schistosomiasis. Lung schistosomiasis, also known as pulmonary schistosomiasis, is an acute or chronic endemic parasitic disease caused by Schistosoma haematobium. The parasites are mainly found in the lungs, with cough and peachy sputum as the main manifestations, but also in various tissues and organs, such as the brain, spinal cord, gastrointestinal tract, abdominal cavity and subcutaneous tissue, producing corresponding symptoms. The clinical manifestations are also diverse. The incubation period is from a few days to 20 years, mostly within 1 year. What are the symptoms that are easily confused with it? 1. Coughing up bloody sputum Most respiratory diseases have cough and sputum symptoms. The sputum can be grayish mucus sputum or yellowish green pus sputum, and sometimes the sputum coughed up with bright red blood is called hemoptysis. In medical science, bleeding from trachea, bronchus or lung tissue below the larynx and expelled from the body by coughing is called hemoptysis. 2, lemon colored sputum Commonly found in simple pulmonary eosinophilia, simplepulmonaryeosinophilia (simplepulmonaryeosinophilia) was first reported by Loffler in 1932, so it is also called Loffler syndrome (Lofflerssyndrome). It is characterized by mild systemic symptoms, a transient lung shadow on X-ray, and an increase in blood eosinophilia, with a duration of 2-4 weeks, also known as acute pulmonary eosinophilia (acutepulmonaryeosinophilia). Patients may have a personal or family history of allergy. 3. Bloody sputum i.e. sputum with blood and blood clots. Bright red blood in sputum is mostly seen in pulmonary tuberculosis or bronchial dilatation, and sometimes this phenomenon can occur when there is inflammation in the pharynx. 4. Mucous sputum of coal dust or cholesterol crystals is a symptom of the clinical manifestation of coal workers’ pneumoconiosis. Coal workers’ pneumoconiosis (coalminerrsquo;spneumoconiosis) is the general term for lung lesions caused by coal miners inhaling dust from the production environment for a long time. 5, coughing chocolate colored sputum reddish brown or chocolate colored sputum, seen in amoebic liver abscess ulcerated into the lungs caused by pulmonary amoebiasis. 6.Rust-colored sputum is seen in pneumococcal pneumonia.
