How to treat parasites in the brain

If there is parasitic disease in the brain, the main treatment in internal medicine is to use broad-spectrum anthelmintic drugs combined with small doses of glucocorticoids for treatment. The commonly used drugs are albendazole and praziquantel, which are usually treated for 1-2 weeks and the parasites in the brain can be killed in most patients. If medication does not work well and there are still frequent seizures, treatment can be done surgically. Because parasitic infections in the brain may lead to impaired cerebrospinal fluid circulation and hydrocephalus in patients, they can also be treated surgically. The clinical manifestations of cerebral parasitosis are varied and are mainly related to the number of parasites infected in the brain and the location of the parasites. If the patient shows symptoms of acute meningoencephalitis or secondary seizures, there are also symptoms of intracranial hypertension, and some patients may develop mental disorders.
