Emphysema cannot be cured.
Patients with emphysema have qualitative changes in lung structure, decreased or lost elasticity of terminal fine bronchial fibers, and increased lung volume, which leads to decreased lung function, which is an irreversible disease. Emphysema treatment can only improve the symptoms and delay the course of the disease, but not cure the disease.
For patients with mild emphysema, they can be treated with medication and should quit smoking and exercise moderately to maintain normal lung function. If emphysema is severe, patients can take oral aminophylline tablets or inhalation of ipratropium bromide and other asthma medication to improve the symptoms, and when combined with infections, need to be actively anti-infective treatment.
Patients with emphysema are advised to consult a doctor in time for standardized treatment to reduce the adverse effects of the disease. All of the above medications should be used under the guidance of a doctor, avoid self-medication.
