There is no scientific evidence to prove that eating spicy can get rid of dampness, it is still recommended that patients with dampness in the body under the guidance of a doctor to improve the way through medication or physical therapy conditioning.
Dampness in the body is mostly caused by external dampness or spleen dysfunction (dysfunction of the spleen’s transport function), the water can not be normally transported and turned into dampness, which can be manifested as weakness of the limbs, loss of appetite, thick and greasy tongue coating, dark complexion and other symptoms.
Chinese medicine believes that the elimination of dampness lies in tonifying the qi, strengthening the spleen, tonifying the kidneys, and transforming dampness, although chili peppers have the effect of accelerating blood circulation and stimulating the secretion of sweat glands, but they do not have these effects.
Therefore, it is still recommended that the patient under the guidance of a doctor through the five ling san, baoji pill, six junzi pill and other proprietary Chinese medicines to improve the conditioning, or under the guidance of a professional doctor through gua sha, cupping, steam, acupuncture and other physical therapy to improve.
Dampness should be improved under the guidance of a doctor through the formal way of conditioning, not blindly on their own.
