What’s wrong with your breasts when you’re on your period?

The term “aunt” generally refers to a woman’s menstrual cycle. There are many reasons for breast swelling and pain during menstruation, which may be caused by hormonal changes, psychological factors, mastitis and other reasons.
1. Hormonal changes: fluctuations in estrogen and progesterone levels during menstruation lead to localized vasoconstriction or diastole, and changes in blood volume lead to localized breast filling and distension, which may manifest as breast swelling and pain.
2. Psychological factors: excessive mood swings and nervousness may affect the mammary glands, resulting in breast swelling and pain.
3. Mastitis: refers to inflammation of the breast tissue with or without infection, patients may experience breast pain, nipple inversion and other symptoms.
Breast pain and swelling during menstruation may also be caused by other reasons such as breast hyperplasia. If breast pain and swelling during menstruation is relieved at the end of menstruation, it is a common symptom of hormonal changes. It is recommended to rest and relax during menstruation. If the pain is not relieved after menstruation, it is recommended to go to the hospital to clarify the cause and to have targeted treatment.
