Does the onset of esophageal sphincter relaxation depend on age and gender?

The pathogenesis of the oesophageal sphincter is age-related and is not strongly gender-related. The disease can occur at any age, with the probability of developing a relaxed oesophageal sphincter increasing with age. The incidence of lower oesophageal sphincter relaxation is not significantly related to gender, and there is no significant difference in the incidence between men and women.
