How to treat blood clots in the buttocks

Usually, blood clots do not occur in the buttocks of people. In some people, thrombosis of the superficial veins in the buttocks, also called thrombosed superficial phlebitis, may occur. This condition can be treated symptomatically, such as using topical medications, such as Xiliao-tol or heparin sodium ointment for local application, or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen or diclofenac sodium for oral administration, which can usually relieve pain and promote the absorption of inflammation, and can be used in the form of hot compresses or physical therapy to promote local blood circulation for better and faster absorption of the inflammation. If the thrombus in the buttocks is a thrombus in the femoral artery, the thrombus should be removed within six hours to avoid ischemia of the limb caused by the thrombus, leading to necrosis and amputation of the limb.
