A plate in the arm is perfectly fine in some cases without removal. In most cases, the plate should be removed after the fracture has healed completely to prevent stress-obstructing osteoporosis due to the plate. However, there are some cases where it is possible not to remove it, such as when the patient is relatively old and the fracture heals successfully in elderly patients, but causes the plate to remain in place. Since elderly patients do not have more physical activities in their daily life and bear less weight on the affected limb, the plate can be left in place without any significant impact on the body. Alternatively, if the plate is in a very heavy part of the arm, it may be considered not to be removed if it is less of a force share.
