Causes of chest pain in women

There are six main causes of chest pain in women: First, heart disease, such as myocardial infarction or coronary heart disease, manifested as crushing pain in the anterior thoracic region, which may be accompanied by radiating pain in the right shoulder, and can be relieved by taking nitroglycerin under the tongue. Second, pleurisy, mostly secondary to lung infection, pain is mostly limited stabbing pain. Third, chest wall injury, mostly with a clear history of trauma, manifested as chest pain and accompanied by redness, swelling or bruising of the surrounding skin. Fourth, costochondritis, aseptic inflammation of the rib cartilage, usually after exertion, mostly distributed along the rib margin, with dull or stabbing pain. Fifth, cystic hyperplasia of the mammary glands, preferred in women of childbearing age, the typical clinical symptoms of bilateral breast swelling and pain and accompanied by breast hyperplasia nodular changes, and the pain is aggravated before menstruation, and can be relieved after menstruation. Sixth, acute mastitis, commonly found in breastfeeding women, manifested as breast swelling and pain, mostly combined with milk stagnation, when the infection is aggravated, mammary abscess can appear.
