We often see such patients in the clinic complaining that their eyes protrude after lowering their heads, and over time, their eyes slowly sink in, making their appearance unattractive and painful, and most of them cannot lie on their sides when sleeping. The duration can be as short as a few years or as long as ten years. In orbital disease this condition is called: varicose veins. Most are a congenital vascular malformation, although it may not be detected until adulthood. It is one of the most complicated surgical procedures in orbital disease because of the high bleeding, inability to remove the malformed vessels, high recurrence rate, and easy loss of vision, so it has been considered the most difficult surgical treatment for orbital disease.
