What are white patches of skin?

White patches on the skin may be vitiligo, lichen planus or white furfura and other skin diseases.

1. Vitiligo: It is a skin disease in which the melanocytes of the skin are destroyed, resulting in localized white patches on the skin, which can be single or connected into patches, with obvious seasonality, and is commonly found on the face, neck, forearms and other locations.

2. lichen planus: it is a fungal skin infection caused by Malassezia infecting the cuticle of the skin. In the early stage, it only manifests as spotty rash, but in the later stage, it can be flaky and covered with scales, and the color can be white, brown, light red, and so on.

3. Leukofurfury: it is a kind of chronic skin disease characterized by scaly hypopigmented spots, which mostly occurs in spring, and is a round or oval pale spot, which can subside on its own.

If the skin appears white spots can be observed first, if the long-term does not subside or itching, pain and other symptoms, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time for examination.
