Creatinine staging criteria for renal failure

The staging method of chronic renal failure in China can be traced back to the minutes of the Huangshan Conference in 1992, when chronic renal failure was divided into 4 stages, and we have been using this staging method now. The first stage, renal function compensation stage, the laboratory blood creatinine is between 133-177 μmol/L. The second stage, renal function decompensation stage, has a laboratory blood creatinine between 186-442 μmol/L. The third stage, renal failure stage, is also known as pre-uremic stage, the blood creatinine is between 451-707μmol/L. In the fourth stage, uremic phase, the blood creatinine is ≥707μmol/L.
