Characteristics of pregnant women with Down’s syndrome

Pregnant women who are carrying a child with Down’s syndrome are generally not unusual in appearance, but abnormalities may be detected in the test results. Down’s syndrome screening is required in the early stages of pregnancy, and if the results of the Down’s test indicate a high risk of trisomy 21, this indicates a particularly high probability of carrying a child with Down’s syndrome, a chromosomal disorder. However, Down’s syndrome screening is not the final diagnosis, and further prenatal diagnosis is needed. For pregnant women with a high risk of trisomy 21, they need to go to the eugenics department and are recommended to undergo amniocentesis, which is the final diagnosis of Down’s syndrome. Pregnant women who carry a child with Down syndrome usually have no other special discomfort, so the main thing is to rely on pregnancy tests to detect abnormalities.
