How many years do you usually live with tongue cancer?

With early detection and early treatment of tongue cancer, the general 5-year survival rate can reach 70%~90%. The survival period is related to the stage and grading of tongue cancer, treatment and patient’s physical condition, etc. The exact time varies. Tongue cancer is clinically categorized into four stages: I, II, III and IV. With different stages, after treatment, the 5-year survival rate is different. 1. Stage I: tumor size <2cm, no lymph node metastasis and distal metastasis, good surgical effect, 5-year survival rate of more than 70%. 2.Stage II: Tumor size 2-4cm, no lymph node metastasis, 5-year survival rate is similar to that of Stage I. The survival rate of Stage II is about the same as that of Stage II. 3. Stage III: Tumor extent > 4cm, no lymph node and distal metastasis, 5-year survival is about 60%, with metastasis down to 30%. 4. Stage IV:The tumor involves bone, muscle, skin, neck or lymph node metastasis >6cm, the 5-year survival rate of patients is relatively low, about 30%. Surgical treatment has a greater impact on life. Those who suspect or have been diagnosed with tongue cancer are recommended to go to the stomatology department of larger hospitals for examination and treatment as early as possible.
