Herbal remedies for colitis

Colitis is a western medicine disease, but in Chinese medicine, it belongs to the category of diarrhea, which may be caused by damp-heat obstruction (dampness and heat gathering to form stagnation), cold-dampness, weak spleen and stomach, etc. It needs to be treated with appropriate traditional Chinese medicines after identification of the symptoms, for example, Ge Ge Ge Scutellariae Lian Lian Tang, Huo Xiang Zheng Qi San, and Ginseng Ling Bai Zhu San, etc. This formula is composed of roasted licorice, scutellariae, yellow dock, and Ge Ge Ge Ge. 1. Scutellaria Baicalensis Lian Lian Tang: This formula is composed of roasted licorice, scutellaria baicalensis, Huang Huanglian, and Pueraria Mirifica, with the efficacy of relieving the exterior and clearing the interior, and is mainly used for treating diarrhea caused by dampness-heat obstruction, which manifests itself in diarrhea and abdominal pain, diarrhea and diarrhea, or diarrhea without refreshing, and the feces is yellowish-brown in color, smelly and dirty. 2. Huo Xiang Zheng Qi San: composed of Hou Pu, Chen Pi, Huo Xiang and other traditional Chinese medicines, it has the efficacy of relieving exterior dampness (relieving exterior evils and dispelling internal dampness), regulating qi and zhong (regulating the qi of the spleen and stomach), and it can be used for treating diarrhea caused by cold and dampness, with manifestations of diarrhea as thin and watery diarrhea, abdominal pain and intestinal tinnitus, or accompanied by malignant cold (fear of cold) and fever. 3. Ginseng and Atractylodes Macrocephalae: Containing licorice, yam, atractylodes and other traditional Chinese medicines, it has the efficacy of benefiting qi and strengthening the spleen and stopping diarrhea by seepage of dampness, and can be used to treat diarrhea caused by weakness of the spleen and stomach, which manifests itself in the form of incompletion of grains and cereals (there is more undigested food in the stools), accompanied by less food and less dullness of the body (lack of appetite and reduced food intake), stuffy epigastric discomfort, and so on. It is recommended that patients with colitis consult a doctor in a timely manner, do not blindly use their own medication, so as not to delay the condition.
