Lung qi deficiency refers to a series of illnesses caused by weak lung qi, dysfunction of the lung’s function of declaring and purging, and lack of solidification of the guard, mainly manifested as coughing, shortness of breath and wheezing, aggravated by movement, low voice and laziness, sputum is white and sparse, self-sweating, fear of wind, easy to catch a cold, tiredness of the limbs, pale color, pale tongue, white moss, and weak pulse. Lung qi deficiency can be treated with formulas such as Yu Ping Feng San. Jade Ping Feng San is composed of Atractylodes macrocephala, Fenghuang Feng and Astragalus membranaceus, which has the effects of benefiting qi, consolidating the epidermis and stopping sweating (stopping sweating by consolidating the muscular epidermis). Adverse effects have not been clarified, and is contraindicated in allergic patients.
