The red marks on the forehead of babies are commonly known as birthmarks, most of them are present at birth, and there are more red marks on the back side of the neck as well. The red marks in the middle of the forehead fade relatively early, mostly within 4-6 months of age. The red marks are caused by adverse external factors during the development of the ectoderm during pregnancy and generally do not require special treatment or intervention. Hemangiomas are usually bright red in color and do not fade when pressed with a finger. They can be eliminated through surgery or local application of medication, so further examination is needed if they are hemangiomas.
