There are many reasons for men to have blood in their stool. If the blood in the stool is bright red in color, there are common causes: first, mixed hemorrhoids, especially internal hemorrhoids, because with constipation or increased abdominal pressure, resulting in pathological hypertrophy and downward movement of the anal cushion, which leads to swelling of the hemorrhoidal vein stasis, thus causing bleeding. Blood in the stool is usually bright red and does not mix with feces. The second common cause is anal fissures. Long-term dry stools can easily damage the skin of the anal canal, leading to fissures and blood on the surface of the stool when it is wiped. The third common cause is rectal polyps, rectal adenomas or malignant rectal tumors that erode the mucosa and blood vessels under the mucosa, resulting in bleeding. If a man’s stool bleeds dark red, consider the possibility that there is an upper gastrointestinal tract present. If there is a previous history of gastroduodenal ulcer, there is a possibility that the bleeding is caused by gastroduodenal ulcer, and there may be lesions caused by small intestinal polyps, small intestinal diverticula, etc.
