Huanglian has the efficacy of clearing heat and drying dampness, cathartic fire and detoxification, and can be used for jaundice, high fever and dizziness, insomnia, palpitations, epistaxis, carbuncles and furuncles (sores occurring on the limbs or face, with small roots and hard nails), and so on. 3. Precautions are different: Huanglian is cold, overdose of long service is easy to hurt the spleen and stomach, spleen and stomach cold (spleen and stomach weakness and cold) people should not be used; bitter and dry easy to hurt the yin and fluids, yin deficiency and fluids injured people should be used with caution.
