Classification of mammogram evaluation:BI-RADS grading method

  (1) BI-RADS 1: Negative, no abnormal findings. The breast is symmetrical, with no masses, structural distortions or suspicious calcifications visible. (2) BI-RADS 2: benign changes, definite benign breast masses (e.g., fibroadenomas, lipomas, simple cysts, cumulus cysts, oil accumulating cysts, and mixed density mismatched tumors), definite benign calcifications (e.g., annular calcifications, short strips of well-defined calcifications, coarse speckled calcifications, sparse more single sized dotted calcifications, multiple secretory calcifications, etc.) are included in this category. Intra-breast lymph nodes, vascular calcifications, implants, and structural distortions consistent with the surgical site are also included in this category. In general, there is no radiographic sign of malignancy. (3) BI-RADS 3: Probably benign changes, with short-term follow-up recommended. There is a high probability of benignity and radiologists expect this lesion in the short term.
