What’s wrong with a lump in the lymph node?

In the inguinal region of the body, it is normal to be able to touch a lump when lying down because the lymph nodes are relatively large. However, if lymph nodes can be touched in the armpit or neck area, it indicates that the lymph nodes are enlarged, which can be caused by inflammation or tumor metastasis. Generally, the swollen lymph nodes caused by inflammation will be accompanied by local pain, redness and swelling on the surface of the lymph nodes, and pressure pain when pressing the lymph nodes with hands, which are caused by bacterial infection, and can be treated mainly by oral antibiotics, such as cefixime or cefradine. If the lymph nodes are swollen due to tumor metastasis, there may be metastasis of thyroid cancer to the neck or breast cancer to the armpit, resulting in swollen lymph nodes.
