What happens when the prefrontal cortex of the brain is damaged

Damage to the prefrontal cortex of the brain may result in motor or speech dysfunction.
Damage to the prefrontal cortex is usually caused by the presence of cerebrovascular disease, intracranial space-occupying lesions, or craniocerebral trauma. In severe cases of prefrontal cortex damage, motor and speech disorders as well as visual dysfunction may occur. Symptoms such as increased muscle tone, aphasia and, in severe cases, memory loss and ataxia may occur.
The treatment of prefrontal cortex damage is generally symptomatic, and depends on the cause of the prefrontal cortex damage, as well as the severity of the primary disease, to do the appropriate drug treatment or surgical treatment.
