What is the precursor to back pain and leg numbness?

Lumbar pain and leg numbness are mostly caused by lumbar disc herniation, lumbar spinal stenosis and lumbar spondylolisthesis.
1. Lumbar intervertebral disc herniation: this is a syndrome caused by degeneration of lumbar intervertebral discs, which is mainly manifested by symptoms such as lumbar pain, sciatica, numbness of the lower limbs and cauda equina syndrome.
2. Lumbar spinal stenosis: this disease can be divided into congenital and acquired, and acquired is mostly caused by degenerative changes such as disc herniation. Typical symptoms are lumbar and leg pain with intermittent claudication.
3. Lumbar spondylolisthesis: this disease can also be caused by congenital or acquired factors. Lumbar spondylolisthesis caused by acquired degenerative lesions is often accompanied by lumbar spinal stenosis. Lumbar spondylolisthesis can occur without any symptoms, can also appear lumbar and leg pain, numbness and weakness, and in severe cases, can appear abdominal protrusion, lumbar depression, shortening of the torso and so on.
When lumbar pain and numbness occur, and the symptoms do not get better after resting, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time to find out the cause of the disease, and carry out the corresponding treatment as soon as possible.
