Sage Methimazole Tablets Side Effects

Sage is the trade name and the generic name is Methimazole Tablets. The more common side effects of Methimazole Tablets include dizziness, headache, leukopenia, granulocytopenia, nausea, vomiting, anorexia, epigastric discomfort, liver damage, alopecia, anaphylactic skin reactions (itching, rash, rubella), arthralgia, myalgia and so on. Methimazole tablets are mainly used for the treatment of hyperthyroidism, especially for patients without or with mild enlargement of the thyroid gland and young patients, preoperative preparation for hyperthyroidism, preparation for radioactive iodine treatment, in some cases can be used for long-term treatment of hyperthyroidism, radioactive iodine treatment, as a prophylactic treatment when iodine irradiation must be used. This product is contraindicated in cases of hypersensitivity to methimazole, other thioamide derivatives or any excipients, and in nursing mothers. The use of methimazole tablets should be under the supervision of a doctor, if a serious adverse reaction occurs need to go to the hospital immediately for treatment.
