When gastric cancer is dying, that is, when gastric cancer patients are in the terminal stage, most of them have metastasis of cancer cells, often to bones, liver, lung, pancreas, etc. Therefore, in addition to the terminal manifestations like those of ordinary terminal patients, such as incontinence, impaired consciousness, etc., there may be metastatic manifestations in different parts of the body before death. However, due to the different conditions and physique of different patients, the signs that appear vary from person to person, and there are not as many as 15 clinical signs. I. Signs of dying: 1. Impaired consciousness: most of the patients with gastric cancer are already in a comatose or unconscious state before dying and cannot be easily awakened. Some patients may be awakened by stimulation such as pressing the supraorbital nerve and shaking the body, but they may enter a state of sleep again after stopping stimulation, or they may not respond to external stimulation and be in a coma. 2. Urinary and fecal incontinence: The anal sphincter and urethral sphincter of gastric cancer patients are decreasing in function before death, which leads to muscle relaxation, so the urine and stool can be discharged uncontrollably. In addition, urinary incontinence may also be related to the kidney metastasis that occurs in a small number of terminal patients with gastric cancer, resulting in kidney dysfunction; 3. The appearance of tidal breathing or intermittent breathing, decreased blood pressure, decreased visual acuity, as well as cyanosis of the extremities, generalized chills, and other manifestations. Signs of metastasis: 1. Bone metastasis: when bone metastasis occurs before the death of gastric cancer patients, bone pain at the metastasis site may appear, and such pain may spread to the bones of the whole body and cause tingling pain all over the body; 2. Liver metastasis: when liver metastasis occurs, patients often have symptoms such as pain in the right upper abdomen and liver size before the death, and hard nodules can be touched in the right upper abdomen, and may be accompanied by jaundice, ascites, fever and other common manifestations of liver disease; 3. When stomach cancer metastasizes to the lung, it may cause symptoms such as coughing and hemoptysis, so some patients may suffer from life-threatening hemoptysis; 4. It is suggested that family members should give enough attention, understanding and care to the dying patients, and try to let them spend their last stage of life with dignity.
