Dandelion is effective in eliminating carbuncles and knots, clearing heat and removing toxins, and inducing diuresis and drenching. It is used in the treatment of damp-heat jaundice, redness of the eyes and swelling and pain, mammary carbuncles, scrofula and other conditions.
Dandelion is an extremely common Chinese herb with a bitter, pungent flavor and cold nature. It has the effects of eliminating carbuncle and dispersing knots, clearing away heat and detoxifying toxins, diuretic and diaphoretic (to improve the problem of dribbling urine and the problem of insufficient and inaccessible urine volume), clearing away dampness and heat, and clearing away the liver and improving the eyesight.
Dandelion can treat damp-heat jaundice, eye redness and swelling pain, breast carbuncle (red, swollen and painful breasts, poor milk discharge, and ultimately the formation of suppurative diseases), scrofula (mainly refers to the cervical lymph nodes tuberculosis), intestinal carbuncle (carbuncles occurring in the bowels of the intestinal organs, manifested by fever, pain in the right abdomen, and palpable masses), lung carbuncle, furuncle, and so on.
It can also be used to treat conditions such as feverish drenching (burning and stinging pain evident during urination, accompanied by frequent urination and urgency, and discomfort from traction in the lower abdomen) and astringent pain.
Excessive dosage of this medicine may cause adverse reactions such as diarrhea; its contraindications are not clear; caution should be exercised by those with cold spleen and stomach.
If you want to use dandelion, you need to use it correctly under the guidance of a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner, do not self-medicate or change the dosage arbitrarily.
