Chest pain during lung radiotherapy may be related to mucositis caused by radiotherapy, damage to the myocardium during radiotherapy, or the patient may have a history of myocardial infarction and complications of myocardial infarction during lung radiotherapy. The treatments are different for different causes and include anti-infective treatment, vasodilator treatment, anticoagulation treatment, and so on.
1. Anti-infection treatment: if chest pain is caused by mucositis due to radiotherapy, the side effects caused by radiotherapy can be treated with broad-spectrum antibiotics, such as dexamethasone, cortisone and other hormonal drugs.
2. Vasodilator therapy: during lung radiotherapy, the myocardium may also be damaged, or myocardial blood supply is insufficient to cause chest pain, you can choose vasodilator drugs to improve the symptoms of myocardial ischemia, so as to alleviate the chest pain, such as Phentolamine, nitroglycerin and so on.
3. Anticoagulation therapy: If the patient has a history of myocardial infarction, and complications of myocardial infarction occur during lung radiotherapy, anticoagulation and vasodilator medications such as prostaglandin and cilostazol will be considered as part of the treatment, and patients will be advised to take bed rest.
There are many reasons for chest pain during lung radiotherapy, which should be treated as early as possible under the guidance of physicians, and should not be treated blindly with drugs on their own.
