Lupus erythematosus is known as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), and the late complications of SLE include lupus encephalopathy, interstitial lung disease, pericarditis, and lupus nephropathy.
SLE is an autoimmune disease with multi-system organ damage as the main manifestation, and the cause is still unclear. Early symptoms include skin rash, joint pain, fever and fatigue.
In advanced stages, SLE may involve multiple organs such as the nervous system, heart, lungs and kidneys, which may manifest as lupus encephalopathy, pericarditis, interstitial lung disease and lupus nephropathy, respectively.
There is no cure for SLE, and the principle of treatment is early, individualized treatment to minimize the progression of the disease.
SLE patients are advised to go to the rheumatology and immunology departments of regular hospitals for detailed consultation.
