Can Kidney Yang Deficiency Cause High Blood Calcium

Kidney-Yang deficiency does not cause elevated blood calcium. According to traditional Chinese medicine, the symptoms of kidney yang deficiency are mainly manifested as lumbar and knee soreness (a feeling of soreness and weakness in the waist and knees), cold pain, fear of cold, coldness of the lower limbs, blanched face, fatigue (mental exhaustion and physical weakness), frigidity of libido, impotence and premature ejaculation in men, infertility in women, leucorrhea with a clear and thin volume, frequent urination, and nocturnal enuresis, and so on. Normal human blood calcium is about 2.2~2.6mmol/L. Hypercalcemia occurs when the blood calcium level exceeds 2.75mmol/L. There are many reasons for elevated blood calcium, such as: malignant tumors, primary hyperparathyroidism, renal failure, vitamin D toxicity, low-transit bone disease, and the use of thiazide diuretics. When the blood calcium is elevated, it is recommended to go to the hospital in order to clarify the cause of the disease.
