Throat herpes is clinically called herpes pharyngitis and requires formal treatment. Usually, after formal treatment, most patients are usually cured in about 1 week, and in some severe cases the time may be extended to about 2 weeks. In a few patients, it can be cured in 3 days.
Herpes pharyngitis is most common in children, caused by viral infections, and children often have fever, sore throat, cough, nausea, vomiting and other symptoms, and small herpes will appear in the pharyngeal region.
The majority of children will recover in about 1 week after treatment with dietary adjustments, rest, hygiene habits, isolation and active use of antiviral medications, such as acyclovir, and the course of the disease may be prolonged to about 2 weeks in severe cases. A very small number of severe cases may resolve spontaneously.
If herpes pharyngitis is diagnosed, prompt medical attention and active treatment are recommended.
