Selecting a face lift according to the analysis of the principle of aging and sagging

Sagging facial tissues and skin wrinkles formation can look old and sagging can further aggravate facial wrinkles and folds. As shown in the figure: Lifting of sagging facial tissues. Two types of methods are commonly used: one is the simple suspension method, through a very small local incision to implant suspension wires, fascia, etc.; the second is through a more complex surgical approach, the face is peeled at different levels (subcutaneous, subperiosteal), lifting, fixed after healing to maintain the face lift effect. The traditional surgical method is to perform a large incision on the head and face (commonly known as facelift surgery), but now the more advanced is through a small incision in the hairline, the application of endoscopic technology to operate. The most commonly accepted theory on the causes of facial morphological aging is that the cumulative effect of gravity leads to the gradual sinking and displacement of facial soft tissues; cumulative progressive photodamage and solar elastic tissue deformation will lead to loss of skin collagen and elastin, and the skin of women around 35 years old will show significant aging phenomenon. With the change of hormone level in the body, the skin becomes thinner, the epidermal form becomes irregular, the subcutaneous fat atrophies, the deep fat increases, and the fascia and ligament tissues supporting the fatty tissue gradually lose their tautness; the gradual atrophy of facial glands and the gradual resorption of facial skull bones will aggravate the sagging of facial tissues and the appearance of aging face. Accordingly, we can realize that in order to maintain the long-term lifting effect, we need a strong and lasting lifting force to counteract gravitational sagging. Suspension surgery can only apply force at a few points on the face, and the brittleness and elasticity of the tissues determine the unsustainability of the force at the fixed points, so the effect is relatively short. Only through the surgical method, the sagging tissues are lifted and repositioned to form an extensive healing with the deep tissues at a high level to provide a strong and lasting anti-sagging force. As for other methods such as electrolysis and laser cosmetic surgery, they do not have any lifting effect.
