Beijing will provide free dental veneers for the elderly over 60 years of age with no teeth in their mouths. 2011 work plan, from May, eligible people can be registered for screening. The city’s 16 districts and counties must complete the work of free dental veneers for the elderly over 60 years old (born before December 31, 1951) with no teeth in their jurisdictions by the end of November 2011. According to the program, the street (township) civil affairs department is responsible for notifying low-income people over 60 years of age in the district, from May 15 to September 15, 2011, with their ID cards, “Beijing city residents’ minimum living security card” or “Beijing city residents’ minimum living security card” (including “Beijing city residents’ living difficulties subsidy card”), to the district and county dental clinic for screening and registration. The dental clinics in each district and county will screen the elderly people over 60 years of age who come to the clinic, check the low income vouchers, and register those who have lost all their chewing functions and meet the policy conditions. The free dental veneer is a denture, the cost of each pair of denture in principle does not exceed 1000 yuan.
