Breech position is a position in which the fetus is preterm, which may lead to difficulties in labor and delivery, and some babies with difficulties may have hip abnormalities.
When the fetus is in the breech position in the uterus, there is usually no significant effect on the hip joints of the fetus or the pregnant woman, but during labor and delivery, the baby’s hip joints may be abnormal due to excessive pulling and other causes.
Breech position refers to breech presentation, which mainly means that the baby is delivered in the buttocks first, and the baby is mainly in the position of curling up with the chest holding the knees in the uterus. Whether it is cephalic position or breech position, it generally has no effect on the hip joint of the baby, and the effect on the baby is mainly in the process of labor, which may lead to prolongation of the process of labor, prolapse of the umbilical cord, and so on.
If breech position is found on examination, there is usually no need to worry too much, and regular labor checkups are sufficient.
