Smoking is not recommended for finger fractures for the following reasons: 1) Smoking affects vasoconstriction at the site of the injury, which causes slow bone healing; 2) Smoking may affect the patient’s immune function, making it easier for the patient’s immune system to decline, leading to infections, inflammation and other undesirable conditions in the affected area; and 3) The nicotine in tobacco may cause vasospasm, which affects normal recovery of the fracture. Therefore, it is generally not recommended that patients smoke during the fracture period. In addition, patients also need to pay attention to develop a good and healthy eating habits, eat more high protein and high calcium foods, such as milk, fish, shrimp, chicken soup, etc., eat more fresh vegetables and fruits, avoid spicy and cold, caffeine, alcohol and other stimulating foods. Pay attention to bed rest, appropriate exercise, rehabilitation physical therapy under the guidance of professional physicians.
