The precautions before gastroscopy mainly include dietary aspects, medication, preoperative examination and so on.
1. Diet: patients should pay attention to diet 1~2 days before the gastroscopy, with light, easy to digest, fluid or semi-fluid food, such as millet porridge, egg custard, rotten noodles and so on. Fasting 6~8 hours before the examination, fasting and water fasting on the day of the examination, if the patient for painless gastroscopy, the fasting time should be appropriately extended, usually 8~10 hours.
2. Drugs: generally speaking, one week before the gastroscopy should stop using aspirin and other anticoagulants.
3. Preoperative examination: patients should undergo coagulation function and electrocardiogram before gastroscopy in order to determine the general condition of patients, so as not to prevent patients from being unable to tolerate gastroscopy.
