Prevent Alzheimer’s disease, the brain must first “move”

In Anhui TV’s recent hit TV series “Me and My Them”, Chu Fan, a beautiful and capable strong woman, takes charge of her career, but is helpless because her mother suffers from Alzheimer’s disease. The mother in the drama, sometimes sober and sometimes confused, portrays the image of an Alzheimer’s patient to a tee. In reality, we often see newspapers publish “missing persons notices” for the elderly, which also brings dementia into the public eye. What kind of disease is it, and how should we avoid or prevent it in our daily lives as seniors and their families? Alzheimer’s disease should be detected and treated early “dementia”, mainly refers to the acquired loss or decline of intelligence. And the common dementia is mainly reflected in three diseases: Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s dementia and vascular dementia. The last one is mainly triggered by nerve compression and insufficient oxygen supply to the brain due to cerebral infarction and cerebral hemorrhage; the specific causative factors of the first two are not yet conclusive. Among these three common dementia diseases, vascular dementia is actually the easiest to prevent in advance. “For example, hypertension, in addition to control through drugs, in ordinary life to pay more attention to a light diet, sports. These are common preventive health knowledge that everyone should know.” It is entirely possible to circumvent and prevent vascular dementia by preventing blood vessel blockage and blood stickiness. However, Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s dementia are not so easy to prevent, because its causative mechanism is still inconclusive, and all the medical community can do at present is early detection and timely treatment. ”For example, if the elderly have some symptoms of Parkinson’s, such as slow behavior, hands shaking without by should pay attention to, through early treatment to avoid deterioration of the disease. And the early stage of Alzheimer’s disease will show some symptoms of memory loss and mild cognitive impairment, such as forgetting the way home, basic information about themselves and people around them.” Seniors need to see a hospital for early intervention if they have early symptoms of Parkinson’s or if they lose memory for some common sense information. Keep a good mood Keep your brain moving In recent years, the prevalence of Alzheimer’s is indeed increasing year by year from the outpatient situation, and the age distribution of patients is mainly after 65 years old, and the older they are, the more they are. “This is actually quite normal, because now the average life expectancy of people is increasing year by year, and the older you are, the greater the chance of suffering from this disease.” Patients with Alzheimer’s mostly show diminished intelligence, but some are also accompanied by psycho-behavioral symptoms, such as delusions, hallucinations, and behavioral disturbances. So although the prevalence of Alzheimer’s disease is increasing year by year, most of the patients who come to the hospital are those with accompanying psycho-behavioral symptoms. “Many people choose to give up treatment considering the limited effectiveness of treatment and the fact that there are no immediate medications available.” There are also some empty nesters in their lives who are prone to pseudo-dementia because of lack of communication with the outside world and long-term isolation. But this pseudo-dementia, if allowed to develop, may also transform into true dementia, so this also requires people to pay more attention to the lives of the elderly, especially the spiritual life. When it comes to caring for the elderly, more spiritual care should be given. As for the elderly, what they need to pay attention to is, firstly, to maintain a happy and positive mood; secondly, to focus on physical health while not worrying too much about the body, to do it in moderation; thirdly, to strengthen brain exercise, such as exercising more, listening to music or playing cards. He stressed that emotions have a great impact on people’s health, so it is crucial for the elderly to maintain a good state of mind that cannot be ignored.
