The patient, Li, male, 50 years old, fell in the shower and caused a comminuted fracture of the left femur between the trochanter. After regular postoperative review of X-rays, the bone scab grew well and the fracture end was well aligned, and the external fixation was removed 100 days after surgery. After another half month of functional exercise, the pinhole of the external fixation completely healed and the function of the affected hip and knee returned to normal. Two years after the surgery, the fracture healed bony and the stem angle of the femoral neck was normal. The patient exclaimed, “This method is really good, because there is no need for surgery and one less operation, and the bone is growing as usual!” This method is suitable for: all types of intertrochanteric fractures, patients with financial difficulties, or those who are in poor physical condition and are not in a position to undergo surgery.
