Atractylodes macrocephala has the effects of drying dampness, strengthening the spleen, dispersing cold, dispelling wind, and brightening the eyes. It can be used in the treatment of dampness obstruction in the middle Jiao (dampness obstructing the function of the spleen and stomach), epigastric (abdominal) distention, diarrhea, edema, wind-cold flu, night blindness, and dimming of the eyes.

Atractylodes macrocephala is pungent, bitter and warm in nature, belonging to the spleen, stomach and liver meridians, with the effects of drying dampness and strengthening the spleen, dispersing cold and dispelling wind, and brightening the eyes, it can be used for treating dampness obstruction in the middle jiao, distension and fullness in the epigastrium (abdomen), diarrhea, edema, wind-cold flu, night blindness, and dimness of the eyes.
