The location of the macula is in the middle of the retina, which is the main concentration site of human visual cells and has important physiological significance. The macular area is an important part of the human visual system. It is located in the center of the retina, at the posterior extremity of the eyeball and 3 to 4 mm on the temporal side of the optic nerve papilla, and it is the main concentration site of human visual cells. The cone-shaped cells in the center of the macula are sensitive to color, and the surrounding columnar cells are sensitive to light and darkness, which is physiologically important. If a patient has macular lesions, he or she will have more obvious symptoms of darkness of the visual color. At present, the more common clinical macular lesion is retinal macular hemorrhage, and the main causes are high myopia, eye trauma, and so on. When patients develop macular degeneration, in addition to the above symptoms of dark vision, they will also have blurred vision, dark shadows in front of their eyes, distorted vision, decreased visual acuity, etc. Some of the patients will also have macular cystic edema and other symptoms. If the above symptoms occur recently, it is recommended to consult a doctor as soon as possible to determine whether macular degeneration is the cause of the problem and to seek timely treatment to avoid the impact on vision.
