The nursing care of hepatic encephalopathy mainly includes four aspects: health education, dietary care, complication care and psychological intervention. After hepatic encephalopathy patients are rescued, corresponding and comprehensive nursing measures must be given.
1. Health education: patients should be told in detail about the relevant health knowledge of hepatic encephalopathy, such as the treatment status of the disease at the present stage, the progress of the disease and precautions, so as to help the patients build up confidence in overcoming the disease.
2. Dietary care: patients’ diet should be strictly controlled to ensure that the daily calorie intake of patients meets 1500~2000kcal. Protein diet will have adverse effects on the disease, so the protein intake in patients’ diet should be strictly controlled, and patients should avoid consuming animal protein food, and patients should consume more vitamin-rich and easy-to-digest food, avoiding the intake of greasy and spicy food.
3. Complications care: nursing staff should strengthen disinfection and isolation measures, wards should be opened every day to ventilate, to ensure that the temperature of the patient’s ward as well as humidity can be maintained in the right place. Reduce the visiting time of the patient’s family members, at the same time, should pay more attention to the oral hygiene of the patient, wipe and clean the skin for the patient, observe the skin condition, such as whether there are pressure sores, etc., and carry out muscle massage for the patient’s limbs.
4. Psychological intervention: patients with hepatic encephalopathy will have a lot of psychological pressure due to their condition, and they are prone to anxiety, depression and other negative emotions. Nursing staff should communicate closely with patients and their families in the daily nursing process to alleviate the patients’ psychological pressure and keep them in a peaceful state of mind.
