Herbal Remedies for Inflammation of Tonsils

Tonsillitis can be diagnosed and treated by referring to the relevant contents of Chinese medicine “milk moth”, and the main Chinese herbal prescriptions are Shuanfeng Clearing Heat Tang, Clearing Pharyngeal and Diaphragm Tang, Lily Solid Gold Tang, Six Gentlemen’s Soup, Huixiau Expulsion Blood Stasis Soup, and Ercheng Tang.
1. Wind-heat externally invades and there is heat in the lung meridian. Dry and burning throat, redness and swelling of the throat nucleus, accompanied by coldness (fear of cold) and fever, headache and nasal congestion, red tongue with yellowish moss and floating pulse. Dry pharynx with foreign body obstruction, chest and epigastric constriction (feeling of fullness and stuffiness in the chest and abdomen), white phlegm, pale tongue with white greasy coating, and slow and weak pulse can be seen. The treatment should be strengthening the spleen and stomach, dispelling dampness and facilitating the pharynx, and Six Gentlemen’s Soup should be used.
5. Phlegm and stagnant phlegm, coalescing in the nucleus of the throat. Dry and astringent pharynx, or tingling and distending pain, phlegm sticky and difficult to cope with, prolonged and unresolved, dark tongue with petechiae, whitish greasy moss, fine and astringent pulse. The treatment should be to activate blood circulation and eliminate blood stasis, expectorate phlegm and benefit the pharynx, and use Huixiahuayuyuyu Tang combined with Er Chen Tang.
