What are the indications for withdrawal of ventilator

Ventilators are mainly used to treat patients with respiratory failure and acute critical illnesses. Before withdrawing the ventilator, a comprehensive assessment of the patient’s condition is required. Indications for ventilator withdrawal include: 1) effective control or remission of pulmonary disease; 2) recovery of cough reflex; 3) vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate and body temperature close to normal; 4) clear consciousness and good compliance; 5) liver and kidney function, blood gas analysis and acid-base balance indicators are at or close to normal.
