There is no evidence from large-scale clinical studies that combining antiangiogenic agents with chemotherapeutic agents exacerbates side effects. Antiangiogenic drugs can interfere more prominently with the cardiovascular system, but there are fewer chemotherapeutic agents with greater cardiovascular toxicity in the treatment of lung cancer. However, when antiangiogenic agents are used in the treatment of other tumors, the toxic side effects may increase when combined with more cardiotoxic agents such as anthracyclines, so more caution should be exercised in the application of these tumors.
