The normal value of human uric acid is below 420umol/L. For uric acid 524umol/L is significantly higher and more serious. If uric acid exceeds 524umol/L without intervention and treatment, patients are at greater risk of developing gouty arthritis and even kidney involvement, such as recurrent urinary stones and serious renal insufficiency. Uric acid 524umol/L should be treated actively, starting with dietary control, avoiding alcohol and purine-rich foods, such as seafood, animal offal, hot pot and broth, and adding uric acid-lowering drugs, such as febuxostat, which has a better uric acid-lowering effect and fewer liver and kidney side effects.
