Prostasol should refer to Prostasol pills (or tablets, capsules, granules, softgels). Generally, it is not recommended to take Prostasol and Liuwei Di Huang Pills together. If coadministration is required, it is recommended to consult a medical practitioner for medical advice.
The formula of Prostatol contains Epimedium, Astragalus, Plantago Ovata, Sichuan hyssop and other traditional Chinese medicines, which are effective in tonifying the kidney and benefiting the vital energy, resolving blood stasis and clearing up gonorrhea.
Prostatol is commonly used in the treatment of spleen and kidney deficiencies, stagnation of qi and blood stasis (blood stasis due to lack of qi flow), symptoms such as lumbar and knee pain and tenderness (a feeling of soreness and weakness in the lumbar and knee regions), abdominal distention, dysuria, dribbling after urination, or frequency of urination, urinary pain, and urethral dryness and pain. Adverse reactions and contraindications are not known.
The formula of Liu Wei Di Huang Wan contains several traditional Chinese medicines such as Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, Cornus Officinalis, Dampy, Chinese yam, etc. It has the effect of nourishing yin and tonifying the kidney, and is often used in the treatment of kidney yin insufficiency, which is manifested as dizziness and ringing in the ears, lumbar and knee soreness and weakness, sweating in bed, hot flashes (a burst of fever), spermatorrhea, premature ejaculation, and other symptoms. Note that individual patients may experience adverse reactions such as gastrointestinal discomfort or skin rash after taking the medicine, and prompt medical attention is recommended.
The two drugs have different pathogenesis and are not recommended to be taken together.
