How to prevent scar growth

Clinical scar prevention should be carried out during the period of lesion healing and scar proliferation through wound care, medication and compression therapy. 1. Wound care: in order to prevent scar proliferation, we should avoid stimulating diet, keep the wound clean, avoid scratching, friction and other mechanical injuries; if the scar is around the joints, we should not exercise the affected area to avoid increasing the tension of the incision, which may lead to scar aggravation. 2. Medication: Early on, follow the doctor’s instructions to use silicone gel to inhibit scar proliferation. If scar proliferation has become more obvious, in order to prevent further aggravation, we can consider local intra-scar injection of glucocorticoids such as Triamcinolone acetonide to soften the scar. 3. Compression therapy: Early on, you can use elastic sleeve and elastic bandage to put pressure on the incision, which is a more effective way to inhibit scar proliferation. All of the above medications should be used under the guidance of specialists, avoiding blind self-medication, so as to avoid adverse consequences.
