There are no research results to show which is better, open surgery or minimally invasive surgery for liver cancer.
For liver cancer, surgery is the main and most important treatment method, which can be performed through open or minimally invasive surgery, and minimally invasive also includes laparoscopic or robot-assisted surgery.
However, up to now, there are no randomized controlled studies on laparoscopic or robot-assisted surgery and open surgery for liver cancer at home and abroad. Many retrospective studies have confirmed that the efficacy and postoperative complications of laparoscopic and robotic liver cancer resection are comparable to those of open surgery. Therefore which is better, open or minimally invasive surgery for hepatocellular carcinoma remains to be studied.
The choice of specific surgical procedure also needs to follow the physician’s guidance.
