The gynecologic adnexa refers to all the organs and pelvic tissues near the sides of a woman’s uterus. The adnexa contains the ovaries, fallopian tubes and parietal tissues, tunica and ligaments. According to the shape of the fallopian tube, it is divided into four parts, namely, the umbrella, the jugular, the isthmus and the interstitial part. Ultrasound examination of the uterine adnexa mainly examines the size of the uterine form, the size of the cervix, the echo density of the myometrium, the condition of the bilateral fallopian tubes, the morphology and size of the bilateral ovaries, and also includes the female reproductive organs, which are collectively called gynecological adnexa. If there is a disease in the adnexa, the doctor will diagnose it through the combination of ultrasound and palpation.
