Minimally invasive surgery of the lumbar disc usually refers to a foraminoscopic procedure. After performing the disc removal, the patient can be discharged on the 2nd-3rd day if there is no special discomfort. In some large tertiary hospitals, foraminoplasty for disc treatment has been treated as daytime outpatient surgery, meaning that patients can be discharged after 2-3 hours of observation after surgery. Minimally invasive disc surgery, which has been gradually carried out in major hospitals, is characterized by very little damage to soft tissues and rapid recovery of the patient. However, it must be noted that after minimally invasive surgery for herniated discs, the patient still needs to recuperate at home, mainly by lying down in bed and resting, and only after 3-4 weeks of gradual healing of the damaged annulus fibrosus can the patient gradually increase the amount of activity, which is intended to avoid the recurrence of herniated discs.
