OGTT: the gold standard for diabetes diagnosis

  Blood sugar is a continuous curve, so is an increase in blood sugar definitely diabetes? No, a standard must be met, so what level of blood sugar can be diagnosed as diabetes?  According to the criteria determined by the 1997 American Diabetes Association (ADA)/1999 World Health Organization (WHO) meeting: having diabetes symptoms + random fasting sugar ≥ 11.1mmol/L or fasting blood sugar ≥ 7.0mmol/L or OGTT 2 hours after taking sugar blood sugar ≥ 11.1mmol/L; those with atypical symptoms need to be confirmed again on another day.  What is OGTT? It is Oral GlucoseTolerance Test, which is a very classic test for the diagnosis of diabetes. In this test, after taking blood on fasting, the patient is given a sugar load of 75g of glucose powder, and then blood is taken 2 hours after drinking, and his fasting and 2-hour plasma glucose levels after taking sugar are measured respectively.
